Gift of No Condemnation

5 Mins read

“ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

“There is therefore now no condemnation……” There is no condemnation now. It’s not future tense but present tense “now”. Now we are not condemned. There is no condemnation that can be passed or brought upon us now. The reason is that we are in Christ Jesus.

What is to Condemn?

  • Express strong disapproval of.
  • Demonstrate the guilt of someone.
  • Pronounce a sentence on somebody in a court of law.
  • Judge against, i.e., sentence.

What is Condemnation?

  • The state of being strongly disapproved of.
  • An appeal to supernatural powers to inflict harm on someone or a group.
  • An expression of strong disapproval, pronouncing something as wrong or morally culpable.
  • A preliminary statement (the verdict).

To anyone who is in Christ Jesus and does not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit, no one and no power can condemn you.

Who is this, or who are these that are not being condemned?

Those who are not being condemned are the ones who are in Christ Jesus.

What do you mean by” which are in Christ Jesus?”

They are those who have received Jesus in their lives as Lord and Savior: the born again, the believers.

How can I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior?

God’s word promises, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…… “For whosoever shall call upon the name Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:9–10,13

By His Grace, God has already done everything to provide salvation. Our role is simply to accept, believe, and receive.

Pray this out loud to receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

JESUS, I confess that you are my LORD and SAVIOR. I BELIEVE in my heart that God raised you from the dead. By FAITH in your word, I RECEIVE SALVATION now. Thank you for SAVING ME. AMEN.

What causes us to be condemned?

Sin leads to our condemnation. Therefore, when I believe, I am free from sin. To address the previous question, let us examine the second verse of Romans chapter eight.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” — Romans 8:2

When you have not received Jesus as Lord and Savior, you are under the law of sin and death. This law condemns. But when I am in Christ Jesus, I am under the law of Spirit life. This law doesn’t condemn. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets you free from the law of sin and death. In other words, when you are in Christ Jesus, the law of sin and death has no power over you. No condemnation.

How?

To know “how,” let us read Romans 8:3.

For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.” — Romans 8:3.

The law of sin and death is the one that brings about condemnation. It is the law of condemnation. This law could not deliver us from sin and death because of the weakness of our flesh. Through this weakness, our flesh weakens the law. Therefore, to deliver us from the law of sin and death, “….. God send his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh. “ Because God has condemned sin in the flesh of Jesus Christ, the power of condemnation that sin- or the law of sin and death- wields against us is destroyed, paralyzed, neutralized, thwarted, and rendered null and void. Therefore, the law of sin and death has no power to condemn anybody who is in Christ Jesus. Then;

Because God condemned the law in the body of Christ on the cross, the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us through Jesus Christ.

Now, those who are in Christ Jesus and walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, find that the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in them. The law cannot condemn anyone who fulfills its righteousness.

That the Righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. — Romans 8:4.

Christ has fulfilled the righteousness of the law for us. Now, in Christ Jesus, we have fulfilled the righteousness of the law. Because we have fulfilled the righteousness of the law in Christ Jesus, the law cannot condemn us. It is a gift of no condemnation because we didn’t work for it. Jesus Christ worked for it; when he acquired it, he had no need of it, thus he gave it to us. That’s why NO CONDEMNATION is just a gift from God through Jesus Christ to us.

“ Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yes rather is risen again, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” — Romans 8:34

For us to receive the gift of no condemnation NOW, FIRST Jesus had to take our sinful position.

THEN, he was condemned for our sins–Not his sins but ours, the sins we had committed.

AFTER THAT, he had to be killed by crucifixion. Our sins were the condemnation above his head that led to his death; they hung over him. He was buried and resurrected on the third day. Today, he is making intercession for us. When the enemy raises any condemnation against us before God, Jesus simply stands before God to declare, “ I am the one who was Condemned for that; “ then the condemnation is canceled or written off before God. Therefore, no one can condemn us because Christ was condemned on our behalf, in our stead and for us. He died, he was buried, he rose from the dead on the third day, and he lives to make intercession for us. WOW! GLORY TO GOD!!!

“ Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.” Romans 8:33

Because it was God who condemned sin in the flesh of Jesus Christ on the cross. He (God) condemned sin in the flesh of Jesus Christ until He was satisfied that sin had fully been condemned, unclothed, and unnerved of all its power, including the power of condemnation. Keep in mind it is the same God who declares us righteous that we have no sin. He has justified us. On this account, because it is God who has justified us, any person, power, authority, enemy, or the devil who brings any accusations, condemnation, or charges against us before God, God always declares that one is already justified. The charges are null and void. There is no condemnation against him. You walk away free of charge. God condemned sin in the body of Christ in order to justify us, and He has given us the gift of no condemnation.

God doesn’t condemn you. Jesus doesn’t condemn you. The Holy Spirit doesn’t condemn you. When you are condemned, it is either the devil or your conscience.

Therefore, today, receive the gift of no condemnation and sin no more.

Prayer and Meditation.

Father, thank You for sending Jesus Christ in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemning sin in the flesh. Thank You for the gift of no condemnation. I receive it today in Jesus’ Name. Thank You for revealing this to me today in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
